The Goddess Ideology And Depiction

Image
The Goddess Ideology God and goddess , generic terms for the many  deities  of ancient and modern  polytheistic  religions. Such  deities  may correspond to earthly and celestial phenomena or to human values, pastimes, and institutions, including love, marriage, hunting, war, and the arts. While some are capable of being killed, many are immortal. Although they are always more powerful than humans, they are often described in human terms, with all the flaws, thoughts, and emotions of humans. A  goddess  is a female  deity .  Goddesses  have been linked with virtues such as beauty, love, sexuality, motherhood, and fertility (exemplified by the ancient Mother- goddess  cult). In some faiths, a sacred female figure holds a central place in religious prayer and worship.   Guim Tio Zarraluki: https://www.kooness.com/artists/art-for-sale-best-artist-guim-tio   https://plainmagazine.com/guim-tio-zarralukis-portraits-stunning-mix-cartoonish-eerie/   Guim Tió Zarraluki studied Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. His pictorial research starts from the interest in the human condition, treated with humour, irony and a strong degree of provocation, reflects on a society full of taboos and submitted to a visual tyranny of television, advertising and of course, magazines Fashion. Tió Zarraluki's work has been shown in different countries, including Taiwan, Italy, Australia, Spain, Morocco, Canada and the United States. He is a Spanish artist on the art scene since 2010. Guim started out with his Magazine Project , where he’d paint layer after layer over magazine covers until they took on a different form. Since 2014 Guim has been composing more personal, intimate works, exploring and developing his own artistic process. His abstract portrait...

Artist: Emilio Villalba

Image
Emilio Villalba: https://www.moderneden.com/collections/emilio-villalba A Southern California native, Emilio Villalba received his BFA from the Art Institute of California in 2006, and his MFA in Painting from the Academy of Art University in 2011. He currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA. A now San Francisco-based painter Emilio Villalba creates abstract portraits inspired by the precision of master works from the past. His paintings are set against white backgrounds that partially cover or obscure large clusters of diverse, hyperrealistic eyes, which are each painted from photographs of posed family members or friends. Villalba feels more comfortable capturing the feelings in familiar subjects’ faces rather than strangers, an element which he presents in his emotive work.  https://emiliovillalbaart.com/cv/  “Subtle shifts, repetition, (re)placement, or absence of facial features are attempts to create a feeling of dissonance and pressure in the viewer...

Artist: Alphonse Maria Mucha and Art Nouveau

Image
Alphonse Maria Mucha https://www.alfonsmucha.org/  Alphonse Maria Mucha  (24 July 1860 - 14 July 1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, most well known for his images of women. He produced many paintings, illustrations, advertisements and designs. Alphonse Maria Mucha was born in the town of Ivancice, Moravia (today's region of Czech Republic). His singing abilities allowed him to continue his education through high school in the Moravian capital of Brünn (today Brno), even though drawing had been his first love since childhood. He worked at decorative painting jobs in Moravia, mostly painting theatrical scenery, then in 1879 moved to Vienna to work for a leading Viennese theatrical design company, while informally furthering his artistic education. Artist: Nicola Samori

Image
Nicola Samori: http://www.nicolasamori.com/ Nicola Samorì has been working for over a decade on the stories of saints and martyrs of the Christian tradition and has made Lucia the cornerstone of his work. As is well known, the Saint is the protector of the eyes, of sight, of vision, concepts that evoke, by antithesis, the themes of darkness and blindness. In the Mart exhibition, in dialogue with the Caravaggesque representation, there is space for Lucia and other female martyrs and saints, condemned and often forgotten, which constitute the iconographic matrix of Nicola Samorì's work. Tears, incisions and scrapings  made in the heart of the material forcefully bring to the attention of the viewer the image of tortured and stripped bodies in which voices from history echo and mix. That of Samorì is a contemporary painting that recites classical painting. Through transformations and deconstructions, using undoubtedly modern techniques and decidedly contemporary aesthetics, he ...

Artist: Chaira Bautista

Image
Chaira Bautista:  https://beautifulbizarre.net/2014/06/23/chiara-bautista-love-sings-paper-interview/   Quoted from link above: At 38 years old, Chiara Bautista is one of the most fascinating artist that has ever been revealed by the Internet. What fascinates is of course her work first, from sketches to digital art and painting, with recognizable gracious lines and elements that connect her to pop surrealism and graphic novels. Indeed every piece of Chiara’s work is inhabited by mysterious and poetic creatures borrowed from fairy tales and released into the modern world. But it’s her story that makes Chiara’s work unique and spellbinding. Not especially her life’s bio, a bachelor’s degree in Graphic design and a long career as an illustrator for the Arizona Daily Star, in her home of Tucson, USA. No, it’s her out-of-this-world, romantic relationship with her muse, nicknamed Ilka, met online and never in real life (as far as we know). The art of Chiara is a real convers...

Artist: Carolyn Clayton

Image
Carolyn Clayton: Quoted from: https://www.cazamic.com/about-me/   “Hi, I am Carolyn Clayton and I just love to sculpt and create.  I was born in Folkestone, Kent, England but moved to Shropshire in 1996. Since 2004 I have worked as a part time demonstrator at Coalport China Museum. Through my love of making china flowers I have recently developed my ceramic flower people. My love of sculpting started at a very young age. I have always loved to make things or draw. I was a real blue peter kid and used to get though tons of home made salt dough. My art teacher was impressed with my drawing and said I should go to a London art college but I never did.  It wasn’t until I was around 30 that I ‘found clay’ as it were at a local college. I made a number of things which always got ‘woows’ off people. College then led to Wolverhampton university where I had the time of my life learning lots of different ceramic techniques such as screen printing, mold making and making gla...

Artist: Francis Bacon

Image
Francis Bacon: https://www.royalacademy.org.uk/exhibition/francis-bacon?gclid=CjwKCAiAudD_BRBXEiwAudakXzhQ6bQiaIjzZ1OQ-Ip2uobzzEtoNMo4_OCkshNAR55P-mRW5-Zb_RoCgycQAvD_BwE Irish-born artist Francis Bacon was the horse-breeder’s son who became one of the most important painters of the 20th century. An openly gay man at a time when homosexuality was illegal, he was banished from his conservative family home by his father at 16. After that, he drifted through Berlin and Paris before establishing himself in London, with his formative years running parallel with some of the 20th century’s most profoundly disturbing events. This powerful exhibition will focus on Bacon’s unerring fascination with animals: how it both shaped his approach to the human body and distorted it; how, caught at the most extreme moments of existence, his figures are barely recognisable as either human or beast. I personally love Francis Bacon's work and how his practice encompasses almost a chaotic way of working ...
